J’ai commencé le cosplay il y a quelques mois et je m’amuse beaucoup ! C’est une passion vraiment enrichissante qui allie plein d’aspects différents : la créativité, les travaux manuels, la couture, la photographie, et également (pour moi en tous cas) le maquillage. J’aime réfléchir à la façon dont le maquillage peut m’aider à créer le personnage que je veux incarner ou tout simplement mettre mon visage en valeur, par exemple pour une séance photo. Ou pour faire un personnage Disney avec de grands yeux.
I started cosplay a few months ago and I have been having a lot of fun. It is a very rewarding passion that combines many different aspects : creativity, manual work, sewing, photography and (for me at least) make up. I love to think about how make up can help me create the character that I want to embody, or simply bring out the best in my face, for example for a photoshooting. Or to do a Disney character with big eyes.
J’avais l’habitude de faire un maquillage exagéré pour mes spectacles de danse donc l’usage des faux-cils ne m’était pas inconnu. Cela peut être utile également pour le cosplay quand vous portez une perruque encombrante et un costume très voyant. Vous pouvez avoir envie de mieux faire ressortir vos yeux, mais un maquillage “traditionnel” peut ne pas avoir l’effect escompté. Pour cette raison, j’ai fait une petite vidéo qui combine mes propres techniques et ce que j’ai pu trouver sur le net ! J’espère que ça vous plaira et désolé pour mon accent anglais horrible 🙂
I was used to do an exagerate makeup for my ballet shows so the use of fake lashes was not unknown to me. It can be useful for cosplay too if you have a big wig and a very noticeable costume. You may want to make your eyes pop , but a more “traditionnal” makeup may not have the expected effect. For that reason, I did a small video that combines my own technics and what I found on the Internet ! I hope you will like it and sorry for my horrible english accent 🙂
